From Glenn Beck..

A CNN convert over to the "right" side of the issues.
GLENN BECK: Obama’s Budget Is a Loaded Weapon Aimed at You « FOX Forum « FOXNews.com

Here are some of the budget’s broad strokes:

  • Obama’s budget takes the size of our government to the largest it’s been since World War II.
  • It’s got a $1.4 trillion tax increase in it (and oh yeah–we’re in the middle of a recession).
  • It doubles the debt in eight years.
  • It never balances the budget and proposes that, for the next 10 years, our deficits are at a record high.

AL FRANKEN'S GIMMICK: STOP MILITARY FROM VOTING

Al Franken and His Allies Want to Disenfranchise Our Military From Voting

Harry Reid Has Been Stopped — But We Need to Do More

Dear Reader: The battle between Al Franken — the angry, liberal comedian — and Republican Sen. Norm Coleman for the U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota is not about just one vote in the Congress. It is about the rule of law. It is about President Barack Obama getting another liberal senator to rubberstamp future radical legislation. It is about the future of the Republican Party and our two-party system. If the Democrats succeed in stealing this Senate seat we will be one step closer to one-party rule in the United States. This is why the Democrats have been so desperate to seat Al Franken. The Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid was so determined to seat Al Franken as a U.S. senator, he tried to do it without him having an election certificate and before the judicial and recount process was finished in Minnesota. Reid even tried to seat Al Franken “provisionally” — but there is no legal basis to seat a U.S. senator provisionally. And that contest is not over. Reid tried to put his Democratic-controlled Senate above the law. But thanks to groups like ours, the Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) and the help of thousands of Americans like you, we were able to stop Harry Reid’s plan. In fact, Reid admitted defeat and bowed to public pressure when he agreed that Democrats “won’t seat Franken prematurely” and “would wait until a Minnesota court case is concluded before attempting to seat Al Franken provisionally.” This was one victory for us. But make no mistake about it — the war for a fair vote in Minnesota and future elections in this country is not over. We at the RNLA need your help to continue our fight — Go Here Now.

Military Voters Have a Right to Vote
Now, Reid and the Democrats are worried that Franken may not be successful in stealing this election. The RNLA was the first to focus attention on the disenfranchisement of military voters’ ballots and has consistently fought for voting rights for women and men wearing our nation's uniform. And we were right. The Minnesota Election Contest court agreed with the RNLA position on this critical issue. The George Soros and ACORN-backed Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office attempted to disenfranchise overseas military voters, including those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, for a technical matter over the voting forms they used. Incredibly, Ritchie’s office relaxed the signature requirements for in person absentee voting — which helped Franken — but then refused to relax these same standards for military voters, including those in forward combat zones. Al Franken claimed he was running to help our military in Iraq. What a hypocrite. What a sham! And Franken ally Ritchie even had the chutzpah to, according to one reporter, “well up with tears” when discussing the disenfranchisement of overseas military voters because his hands were tied. However, the Election Contest Court disagreed with Ritchie and is now reviewing some of these military ballots.

Your generous help to the RNLA has made a huge difference. Continue to help us today — Go Here Now.

As we speak, the election contest court is still trying to figure out what they want to do. At first they were going to review the amount of ballots Coleman’s requested. Then they reduced the number. We at the RNLA have sought to expose Ritchie’s tactics, which have laid the groundwork for Franken’s effort to snatch this Senate seat from Norm Coleman.

We want to continue our efforts to expose him and Al Franken. Please help us do that — Go Here Now.

The Democrats’ Real Strategy

Because of Ritchie’s antics and Reid’s desires, the Minnesota Senate election is a mess and some leading newspapers are even calling for a runoff. It is months after Senator Coleman won on November’s election night. It has been months since Coleman first asked the Minnesota courts to follow the 7-2 portion of the Supreme Court’s decision on Bush v. Gore to treat all similar ballots equally. This legal principle was backed by liberal Supreme Court Justices David Souter and Stephen Breyer as well as the five conservative and moderate justices. But as of now Franken, Ritchie, and Reid’s desire to disenfranchise select Republican voters, including those in the military, is helping to keep Franken in an artificial lead. The important thing to remember is that the Franken effort — whether he wins or loses — is a template Democrats will use for future elections to steal House and Senate seats legitimately won by Republicans. It is also important to remember that after he lost on election night, Al Franken went to his Hollywood friends and influential people in New York, such as George Soros, to raise millions to mount a legal challenge. We at the RNLA don’t have billionaire backers. We rely on hardworking Americans like you to support us. We need to keep up the public pressure by shining the light on those who are disenfranchised — like our military — for tending, as a group, to vote Republican.

Please help us continue our fight today — Go Here Now.

Sincerely, Michael Thielen Executive Director RNLA

PS. The Democrats in Minnesota fear the Republican National Lawyers Association efforts so much they even filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission to stop us. They know, as does Franken, Ritchie, and Reid, that if the truth comes out and all the legal votes are only counted once, Franken will lose. With your help the RNLA will remain vigilant to ensure it is the legal voters of Minnesota and not the corrupt or incompetent election officials who will determine the next senator.

Please help us today. Go Here Now.

Democrats United in Saying No to Virginia Jobs

Good Afternoon ,

On Friday, I asked the Democratic candidates for Governor a simple question: Would they join me in supporting the creation of thousands of new jobs for Virginians, the addition of hundreds of millions in new revenue for healthcare, transportation and education, and a move towards energy independence?

They all said no.

The issue is simple. Virginia has the opportunity to be the first state on the Eastern Seaboard to lease exploration and development rights for natural gas and oil off of our shores. Exploration would take place in a safe, environmentally-friendly manner, 50 miles off our coastline, far out of sight from our beaches.

Unfortunately, the Governor is working to delay this action and all three Democratic candidates for Governor put their special interests ahead of job-creation and economic development, by saying no to offshore exploration and development.

Offshore energy development is one part of an overall solution to our economic and energy challenges. We need to develop and bring to market renewable energy sources like wind, solar, geothermal, and biodiesel. But during this process, we are still going to need traditional energy sources to keep our economy moving, our houses warm, and our cars on the road.

According to one estimate, there are 130 million barrels of oil and 1.14 trillion cubic feet of natural gas off Virginia's coast. A study by a professor at Old Dominion University, forecasts that natural gas production alone off Virginia’s coast would create 2,578 new jobs, and produce $271 million in state and local revenue. Unfortunately, the Democratic candidates said no to Virginia jobs and yes to the special interests.

If you believe we should say yes to Virginia jobs and economic development, click here to contribute or visit www.BobMcDonnell.com to get involved in my campaign.

News Coverage

Northern Virginia Daily: Virginia is sitting on an economic gold mine just waiting to be unleashed, former Republican Attorney General Bob McDonnell said Friday, challenging his three Democratic opponents to join him in supporting offshore oil exploration.

"As governor of Virginia I will support legislation that will open Virginia's offshore waters, starting at 50 miles off the coast, to environmentally safe exploration and drilling for oil and gas," McDonnell said.

NBC 12: “All three candidates (Terry McAuliffe, Creigh Deeds and Brian Moran) released strong statements in opposition to the letter”

The Washington Post: "I urge the Democratic candidates for governor to put aside their pandering to special interests and do what's right for Virginia families,'' McDonnell said. "Democrats need to stop saying no to new jobs and revenue for Virginia."

WHSV: McDonnell, “Offshore production of natural gas and oil is not the entire solution to our economic and energy challenges, but it is part of the solution and we need to stop with the delays and start making progress.

Rain in the Desert!

Well call it liquid mud!  It has been raining off and on all day today.  I was hoping to get a car wash today from mother nature while I was at the office.  No such luck.  My car was covered with mud from the sky.  Crazy!  Last night there was also a little thunder and lightning.  I was not too terribly impressed so I did not go to the window to see the show.

Sights and Sounds of Bahrain

"Interesting" is a term, "land between time" is another way of describing some of the sights and sounds here in Bahrain.

Here is one for ya.  As I was driving into the parking lot at my hotel, there was Saudi Ford Excursion with not less then 15 people inside.  Mind you most of the people were under the age of 12 but still 15 folks.  Yes and not a car seat was to be found.  Interesting.

Today while eating lunch I saw a bubba I used to work with in Germany.  He worked in the Basement of the DISCOM building.  Those of you who where there would remember the big red neck Major from Tennessee.  Well the Major is now a light colonel.

Yesterday when I went to the pool to get my trophy.  Yes I am a great swimmer!  I bumped into one of my old crewman/rescue swimmer. Was nice to see a friendly face and even nicer were the comments he made about me and the impact I had upon his life.

Last week, during lunch, I ran into a guy who was on the Saipan war cruise '03 158 days at sea with 3 beer days!

I look out my hotel window and see a modern city near the ocean,  I look down into the adjacent lots and I see construction techniques from the middle ages!  Interesting.  OSHA would have a field day here after going off the deep end.

I guess the road to my ultra modern hotel was just paved in the last year or so.  Interesting!

First Looser!

So here i am in the desert.  Well, it just happens there is a swimming pool on this base and a guy I work with likes to hit the pool around lunch time.  So that is what we do.  One day there was a sign up for a 2x100 meter relay race.  My co-worker said, " hey we are two large dudes, why dont we give it a try?" So we signed up and that was that.  Well today was race day and I was the first leg.  I put in a stellar performance of 1:30 and our team time was 2:50, good enough for 2nd place out of 12 teams.  I can honestly say I was near cardiac arrest when I finished my leg.  My goggles wrapped around my neck when I dove in and this really screwed the pooch.  My partner "Mule" had a similar problem  However we did overcome and performed as you can see below!

Well I finally found some one with a digital camera that I can mooch. Bob, my roomate, I use that term lightly cuz Bob lives in Dupont Circle and you know what they say about those types from Dupont Circle?!

Anyhow we went out exploring the countryside this past weekend. We hit most of the big tourist things, The 1st Oil well, the Tree Of life and well that is about it... Oh, least i forget the we saw the oil museum and the Bahrain International Circuit, AKA the race track.

All in all things are good. We moved out of our crappy hotel and are now in the Marriott Executive Apartments Very nice very nice, and settling into the job at hand.

So back the the whole digital pix thing, Bob took some shots, I took some shots and Bob was great full enough to share them with me. I will no longer contemplate putting acrinic in his dinner. Oh that is right I have been branded, knighted, ordained the "Bobby Flay" of the Marriott. Ok maybe the second floor of our office building..... Well that might be pushing it..

Enjoy the pix..

captured by terrorists in Iraq ...

Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, Brian Williams and a tough old U. S. Marine Sergeant were The leader of the terrorists told them he'd grant each of them one last request before they were beheaded and dragged naked through the streets.

Katie Couric said, 'Well, I'm a Southerner, so I'd like one last plate of fried chicken.' The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chicken. Couric ate it all and said, 'Now I can die content.'

Charlie Gibson said, 'I'm living in ' New York , so I'd like to hear the song 'The Moon and Me one last time.' The terrorist's leader nodded to another terrorist who had studied the Western world and knew the music. He returned with some rag-tag musicians and played the song. Gibson was satisfied.

Brian Williams said, 'I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe, someday, someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end.' The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Williams dictated his comments.

He then said, 'Now I can die happy.' The leader turned and said, 'And now, Mr. US Marine, what is your final wish?' 'Kick me in the ass,' said the Marine. 'What?' asked the leader, 'Will you mock us in your last hour?' 'No, I'm NOT kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass,' insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the yard and kicked him in the ass. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from inside his cammies and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he emptied his sidearm on six terrorists, with his knife he slashed the throat of one with an AK-47, which he took, and sprayed the rest of the terrorists killing another 11! In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives.

As the Marine was untying Couric, Gibson and Williams, they asked him, ' Why didn't you just shoot them all in the first place? Why did you ask him to kick you in the ass?' 'What!?!' replied the Marine, 'and have you three assholes report that I was the aggressor....?

More Fair tax fodder

Taxation WITH representation...
Maybe we should have a party in Boston Harbor Part Duex?

Yes, absolutely. Both personal and corporate income
taxes go away under the FAIR TAX. Once every wage earner realized how big
a bite the US government takes away every payday, the politicians could
never go back to the 68,000 page tax code.

Right now, the FAIR TAX people estimate that there is
$13 trillion dollars sitting in overseas accounts
controlled by major US corporations and individuals. If we gave those
companies and individuals 6 months to repatriate that money into US banks
without tax consequences, that would be a $13 trillion injection directly into
the banking system with no tax/interest burden on the US taxpayer.
Isn't that where they are trying to get the money to, the banks?

Think about that statement. The government isn't getting
any taxes on that money now since it's overseas. Instead, they are jacking
around with a $785 billion injection in this so-called "Stimulus Package," which
Rush Limbaugh rightly calls the "Porkulus Package," when they know right where
to go for $13 trillion. How corrupt is
that?

Add to that immediate injection of $13 trillion, all the
deposits that would begin to flow into the US from overseas. Why?
The US would in effect become a tax haven for the world. A guy in Calcutta
who has always lusted after long-legged Texas babes wants to move his operation
to Austin because he can without penalty. He brings his cash, his
key people, his cousin and they all need, and can afford, houses,
cars, haircuts, swimming pools and the like. When US citizens see all
the money that they really earn turning-up in the paychecks, they begin buying
houses, cars, haircuts and swimming pools too. THIS IS
CALLED A "BOTTOM-UP" ECONOMIC RECOVERY.
Obama thinks that he can
orchestrate a "Top Down" recovery which they tried in the 1930's and failed to
do. WW II got us out of depression, not the CCC.

Why don't the politicians with any brain power push for
this? Because, if they adopt the FAIR TAX, they lose the power to include
tax cuts for constituents like the manufacturer of toy wooden arrows on the
Pacific coast, the owner of a NASCAR racetrack and a Puerto Rican rum distiller,
that's why! These preferential tax cuts were all included in the first
"TARP" package of $850 billion.

If enough people were educated enough to be able to sit down
and analyze what the federal government is doing, they'd shut this
government down immediately and vote in someone like Mike Huckabee who included
the FAIR TAX in his presidential campaign platform.
