Sheriff Joe Arpaio

A repost... Can't take credit for this but sure would like to..

You  all remember Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona , who  painted the jail cells pink and made the inmates  wear pink prison garb.  Well.........

SHERIFF  JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!

Oh,  there's MUCH more to know about Sheriff  Joe!

Maricopa   County   was spending approx. $18 million dollars a  year on stray animals, like cats and dogs.  Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over,  and the County Supervisors said  okay.

The animal shelters are now  all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed  and care for the strays. Every animal in his  care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now  has prisoners who are experts in animal  nutrition and behavior. They give great classes  for anyone who'd like to adopt an animal. He has  literally taken stray dogs off the street, given  them to the care of prisoners, and had them  place in dog shows.

The best part?  His budget for the entire department is now  under $3 million. Teresa and I adopted a  Weimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter two  years ago. He was neutered, and current on all  shots, in great health, and even had a microchip  inserted the day we got him. Cost us  $78.

The prisoners get the benefit  of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most  would work for free, just to be out of their  cells for the day. Most of his budget is for  utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays  the prisoners out of the fees collected for  adopted animals.

I have long  wondered when the rest of the country would take  a look at the way he runs the jail system, and  copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm,  donated to the county years ago, where inmates  can work, and they grow most of their own fresh  vegetables and food, doing all the work and  harvesting by hand.

He has a pretty  good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and  fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree  nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a  living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 for the  Holidays, and plant it later. We have six trees  in our yard from the Prison.

Yup,  he was reelected last year with 83% of the  vote.
Now he's in trouble with the ACLU  again. He painted all his buses and vehicles  with a mural, that has a special hotline phone  number painted on it, where you can call and  report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations  and Customs Enforcement wasn't doing enough in  his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained  specifically for enforcing immigration laws,  started up his hotline, and bought 4 new buses  just for hauling folks back to the border He's  kind of a 'Git-R Dun' kind of  Sheriff.

TO THOSE OF YOU NOT  FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO

HE IS THE  MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF

AND  HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND  OVER
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS  WHY:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio (In Arizona  ) who created the ' Tent City Jail':
He  has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and  charges the inmates for them.

He  stopped smoking and porno magazines in the  jails. Took away their weights Cut off all but  'G' movies.

He started chain gangs  so the inmates could do free work on county and  city projects.

Then He Started  Chain Gangs For Women So He Wouldn't  Get
Sued For  Discrimination.

He took away cable  TV Until he found out there was A Federal Court  Order that Required Cable TV For Jails So He  Hooked Up The Cable TV Again Only Let In The  Disney Channel And The Weather  Channel.

When asked why the weather  channel He Replied, So They Will Know How Hot  It's Gonna Be While They Are Working
ON  My Chain Gangs.

He Cut Off Coffee  Since It Has Zero Nutritional  Value.

When the inmates complained,  he told them, 'This Isn't The  Ritz/Carlton......If You Don't Like It, Don't  Come Back.'

More On The Arizona  Sheriff:

With Temperatures Being  Even Hotter Than Usual In Phoenix (116 Degrees  Just Set A New Record), the Associated Press  Reports:
About 2,000 Inmates Living In  A Barbed-Wire-Surrounded Tent Encampment At The  Maricopa County Jail Have Been Given Permission  To Strip Down To Their  Government-Issued
Pink Boxer  Shorts.

On Wednesday, hundreds of  men wearing boxers were either curled up on  their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which  reached
138 Degrees Inside The Week  Before.

Many Were Also Swathed In  Wet, Pink Towels As Sweat Collected On Their  Chests And Dripped Down To Their PINK  SOCKS.

'It Feels Like We Are In A  Furnace,' Said James Zanzot, An Inmate Who Has  Lived In The TENTS for 1 year. 'It's  Inhumane.'

Joe Arpaio, the  tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and  long ago started making his prisoners wear pink,  and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit  sympathetic. He said Wednesday that he told all  of the inmates: 'It's 120 Degrees In Iraq And  Our Soldiers Are Living In Tents Too, And They  Have To Wear Full Battle Gear,
But They  Didn't Commit Any Crimes,So Shut Your  Mouths!'

Way To Go,  Sheriff!

Maybe if all prisons were  like this one there would be a lot less crime  and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be  punished for their crimes - not live in luxury  until it's time for their parole, only to go out  and commit another crime so they can get back in  to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things  taxpayers can't afford to have for  themselves.

For a close friend

and cigar smoking bud...

AAAAAAH!!!

Ok, this is a re-post..... AAAAAH!  These two just make the whole "rape" claim week!  A shame  for when there really is a rape..
Be sure to go to the page and check out the mug shots of these winner!

False Rape Claim Over Bad Sex

Cops: Tennessee women solicited cigarettes in exchange for liaison

JANUARY 28--Two Tennessee women who accused a man of rape have admitted to cops that they had consensually agreed to sex with him in exchange for a pack of cigarettes. One woman told investigators that the duo filed a phony police report because they "didn't enjoy the sex," according to cops. Jessica Kathleen Alexander, 18, and Tammy Nicole Ortega, 29, were arrested today for filing a false police report. Alexander, top, and Ortega are pictured below in mug shots taken by the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The women had originally claimed that they had been assaulted last night by two men outside a Telford home. But Alexander and Ortega subsequently confessed to having a consensual encounter with a man they had met on a telephone chat line (and who agreed to their sex-for-cigarettes proposition). After recanting the rape claim, Alexander told cops that they accused the man "because they didn't enjoy the sex," according to a sheriff's news release. Both women are being held in the county lockup in advance of their scheduled arraignment tomorrow morning in Jonesborough Session Court. Police have not identified the accused man, who still could be charged with solicitation in connection with the sex-for-cigarettes arrangement.(1 page)

Army Transpo

As you can see, it has been busy here in the "View". If you look past the Dominion Power folks working in our front yard, you will notice a tactical tractor and a lowboy getting dragged do the street. For the past week, the Army has been doing some heavy moves bringing the goods to NAS for onward movement to Haiti! How many other countries have this capability?

Dominion Fixes the Mess Created by the City!

After years of neglect and abuse by city buses and other large vehicles that travel Ocean View Ave, I was able to wave down a Dominion Power "bubba" and inform them of the great "leaning pole of power." Well, not really a power pole but a cable and telephone pole none-the-less. It is about frigging time, a little blow last night and a recent ping by a tractor trailer a couple of weeks ago finally caused the demise of the pole! Pretty crazy when driving down the street, it is or "was" the only pole doing the "Detroit" lean. I am surprised that no one else had called it in yet... I would have contacted our city board member Randy Wright however last time I contacted him about broken power poles he blew me off!

See the rope holding the power pole from falling into the street and killing some one"

Fair and Balanced Election News?

A repost from Flopping Aces

All Cable But Fox News Cuts Brown Victory Speech in Favor of Coakley!

When they say Fox News is fair and balanced they can prove it. Here is a comparison from Johnny Dollar showing the amount of time the cable news networks devoted to covering the Coakely concession speech and the Brown victory speech in last Tuesday’s Massachusetts special election:

You would think that considering Brown’s amazing win, that his speech would be the greater story. But apparently the news directors at MSNBC and CNN thought that giving the loser more time was newsworthy.

Fox News Record Ratings

Considering how blatant the bias is at the other two news channels it won’t surprise anyone to learn that Fox News is #1. But did you know that on Tuesday night the Fox News prime time lineup beat the entire ABC broadcast lineup in ratings? Fox News had three out of the top ten shows. Their ratings might have gone even higher had some viewers not been confused and tuned to NBC’s “Biggest Loser” by mistake thinking it was about Martha Coakley.

der Präsident wird uns Toast

Even the Germans are more observant then our left wing media machine

US President Barack Obama suffered a painful defeat in Massachusetts on Tuesday. With mid-term elections looming, it means that Obama will have to fundamentally re-think his political course. German commentators say it is the end of hope.

US President Barack Obama has had a number of difficult weeks during his first year in the White House. Right after he took office, he had to wade through a week full of partisan bickering over his economic stimulus package combined with a tax scandal surrounding Tom Daschle, the man Obama had hoped would lead his health care reform team.

Then there was the last week of 2009, when a failed terror attack on a flight inbound for Detroit exposed major flaws in US efforts to identify and stop potential terrorists. This week, though -- a week when Obama should have been celebrating the first anniversary of his inauguration -- may have been the president's worst yet. Scott Brown, an almost unknown Republican member of the Massachusetts Senate, defeated the Democratic candidate Martha Coakley for the US Senate seat vacated by the death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy. The defeat in a heavily Democratic state not only highlights Obama's massive loss of popular support during his first year in office, but it also could spell doom for his signature effort to reform the US health care system.
There were immediate calls for a suspension of health care votes in the Senate until Brown is sworn in. The loss of the Massachusetts seat means that the Democrats no longer control the 60 Senate seats necessary to avoid a filibuster. Obama's reform package, which aims to provide health insurance to most of the over 40 million Americans currently lacking coverage, may ultimately fail as a result.
More than that, though, the vote shows just how quickly the political pendulum has swung back to the right following Obama's election. The seat won by Brown had been in Democratic hands for all but six years since 1926. Now, its new occupant is a man who not only opposes the health care bill, but also favors waterboarding as a method of interrogation for terrorism suspects and rejects carbon cap-and-trade as a means of limiting carbon emissions.
The omen could be a dark one for the Obama administration heading into a mid-term election year. German commentators take a closer look.
Center-left daily Süddeutsche Zeitung writes on Thursday:
"Obama made a serious misjudgement. Right at the beginning of his first year in office, he saved the banks, rescued the automobile industry from collapse and passed a huge economic stimulus package. He had hoped that these enormous deeds would give him the space to address those issues which are dearest to him: health care reform, climate change and investment in education."
"Those issues, however, are clearly not priorities for people in the US at the moment. Scott Brown campaigned on two promises, both of which apparently struck a nerve with the electorate. He wants to block health care reform and he wants to find ways to reduce the enormous budget deficit. It is here where the roots of dissatisfaction with Obama are to be found. His reform agenda, in its current form, is highly suspect to Americans. And they have the impression that, if he continues piling up debt, he will be gambling away the country's future."
The Financial Times Deutschland writes:
"For Obama, the election in Massachusetts means that he will have to re-evaluate his political style. He could now focus his concentration on his political base and push through his policy agenda. After all, he still has a majority in Congress -- he could back away from his strategy of bipartisanship ... which would mean giving up much of what he spent his first year in office creating."
"More likely, however, is that Obama will interpret the Massachusetts loss as a signal that he should move further toward the middle and make more concessions to the conservatives -- even if this alienates his base even further, a base which had high expectations from the 'yes we can' candidate."
"For everyone else in the world, this means that they will have to bid farewell to a candidate for whom the hopes were so high. They will have to say goodbye to the charisma they fell in love with. Obama will be staying home after all."
The left-leaning daily Die Tageszeitung writes:
"In addition to health care reform, Obama's reputation has primarily been harmed by the high unemployment rate and the increasingly unpopular war in Afghanistan. It will become even more difficult in the future for the president to push projects through successfully. Not just because Republicans now have a means of preventing it, but also because the Democratic camp is deeply divided. Some would like to see the party shift toward the center -- wherever that may be -- whereas others want the party to position itself to the left. Such a battle is hardly a good sign for the mid-term elections in November. Massachusetts could prove to be an omen."
The center-right Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung writes:
"Of course the president rejects the interpretation that the Massachusetts election was a referendum on his first year in the White House. But he cannot ignore the fact that his health care reform package is not popular, the situation of the country's finances is seen as threatening and many voters blame the high unemployment rate on the party in power -- on the Democrats, led by Obama. The result is a second year in office full of very different challenges than the first. To save what there is to be saved, Obama will have to be prepared to fashion a bipartisan compromise on health care -- a compromise with a Republican Party which has tasted blood and can now dream once again about a return to power."

The Cloward/Piven Strategy of Economic Recovery

From the American Thinker...

The Cloward/Piven Strategy of Economic Recovery

Using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change. Those naively believing that President Obama is simply rewarding his far-left base, and will then move to the political center, must wise up.

The assumption that Obama will need the nation to prosper in order to protect the 2010 mid-term election incorrectly assumes that he esteems free market capitalism. He does not. Rather than win through superior ideas and policies, the Democrat plan for success in the mid-term elections is to win by destroying political opposition.

Obama adheres to the Saul Alinksy Rules for Radicals method of politics, which teaches the dark art of destroying political adversaries. However, that text reveals only one front in the radical left's war against America. The Cloward/Piven Strategy is another method employed by the radical Left to create and manage crisis. This strategy explains Rahm Emanuel's ominous statement, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste."

The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation... [Emphasis added.]
Making an already weak economy even worse is the intent of the Cloward/Piven Strategy. It is imperative that we view the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan's spending on items like food stamps, jobless benefits, and health care through this end goal. This strategy explains why the Democrat plan to "stimulate" the economy involves massive deficit spending projects. It includes billions for ACORN and its subgroups such as SHOP and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Expanding the S-Chip Program through deficit spending in a supposed effort to "save the children" only makes a faltering economy worse.
If Congress were to allow a robust economy, parents would be able to provide for their children themselves by earning and keeping more of their own money. Democrats, quick to not waste a crisis, would consider that a lost opportunity.

The Cato Institute reports that the plan will harm a faltering economy, intentionally causing increased job losses leading to increased demands for the aforementioned programs. Even the jobs to be created are set apart to render social justice, not economic revival. Robert Reich believes new infrastructure jobs should not go to white construction workers. Meanwhile, workers at Microsoft, IBM, Texas Instruments, and the retail market find themselves experiencing the life of the welfare poor.

If highly educated and trained workers continue to lose jobs and business falters as a whole, where will these jobless workers go? Could this be construed as revolutionary social reorganization that puts the underachiever above the achiever? Where is the future economic strength when jobless professionals collect welfare and unemployment while dreaming of a minimum wage job? For whites, there's not even the hope of a good paying construction job.

Because these programs are financed with deficit spending, the effect of the Cloward/Piven Strategy becomes doubly destructive. Talk about a perfect storm! The Democrat stimulus plan is a mechanism whose goal is the destruction of the traditional American way of life. It is bitter irony that the American taxpayer will actually fund the destruction of his own ability to live according to the values of our Founding Documents. It is not alarmist to identify this situation as a coup d'etat.

As the flow of money from the top of the economy dries up, job losses and mortgage busts will mount exponentially. The Democrat stimulus plan provides for welfare expansion but not for a robust economy that creates high paying jobs. Is this what Obama means when he warns, "It's going to get worse before it gets better?" If we are not bailing out corporate America so they can regain profitability, we must conclude Obama is working toward another end goal. Recognizing these attack methods reveals the only logical response -- an unwavering wall of "No!"

Nancy Coppock publishes The Jackalope's Voice.

More wise words from Big John K....

Brown was generating $1 million per day over the Internet. Not even Obama did that well.

My FEAR is that the Brown election in MA will panic Obama into an action of the type used by many besieged politicians with his power and problems.

It's called "LETS START A MAJOR SHOOTING WAR!"

Remember when the Lewinsky scandal broke? All of a sudden, Clinton felt that we should start bombing in Kosovo! Think of all the hot spots in the world right now and how easy it would be to provoke a major shooting war.

Obama could care less how many lives would be lost in such an action. He'll do anything to keep political power.

Brown's election proves that any Democrat or Republican in any district anywhere in America is in the cross hairs of anti-incumbent sentiment. And let me emphasize anti-incumbent. I don't think that it's just democrats that are in the hot seat. Failure to deliver cost-effective government services is really at the center of all this discontent. Local, state or federal level, it doesn't matter. Salaries and benefits are too high and results are too low. If you doubt that, just ride the local interstates and major highways in this state!

I enjoyed "Common Sense" especially the opportunity to read Paine's "Common Sense" which is in the back of Glenn's book. Never got an opportunity to read CS in school and it is amazing the stuff we went to war over with Great Britain and the things that are going on now in our country!

"Arguing with Idiots" so far has been quite funny. I should really break it open and finish it off. 2 pages a night just is not cutting it!

Things that make you go..

Hmmm??

The last few days there has been an increase in truck traffic here in the "View".
Now there is nothing particularity special about these trucks, the standard flat bed semi-tractor trailer rig.

What is special is the cargo these trucks are hauling. These trucks are hauling the unsung hero of the military logistics at its finest!

Floating causeway pieces!

Colonels speak tactics where Generals Speak logistics! Nothing happens until something moves and it is only fitting that the CJCS has emplaced an Army General (Keen) who by the way is a high speed low drag individual, in charge of the relief operation in Haiti. De ja vue Katrina/Rita with "angry" Honore! Where are the Navy Admirals or the Air Force Generals maybe they are busy speaking tactics?

Back to the floating causeway pieces, Port au Prince harbor as we all know is crappy and the big ships that have all the good recovery gear cannot pull up to the pier to off load their precious life saving and life giving cargo of cranes, bull dozers, water purification equipment, bulk food stuffs medical gear etc. So these floating piers will be shipped down to Haiti and will be in place in a few days. Helicopters can only do so much, landing craft can only do so much, floating causeways are the answer! Yes, we learned this little lesson this back during the invasion of Normandy!

Which by the way brings me back to the point of the post... The military is designed, manned, equipped and trained to kill and break things. These floating causeways are designed to bring ashore tanks, armored personnel carriers, ammunition trucks, bomb transport vehicles, fuel and heavily armed men who are trained to kill people and break things! Hoooa to the Transportation Corps!

So for all you tree huggers, liberal quacks and people who believe that spending money on the military is a waste of time remember Haiti, Katrina, Puerto Rico, and places in the Pacific hit by the tsunami, and other places hit by disasters, natural or otherwise it is real easy to be against the military when they are doing their JOB killing, breaking and securing in our nations interest. However, when they show up on the door step of what used to be your home offering a free ride out of hell you really should think about your values, beliefs and ideology and tell them to fuck off! After all what good is the military?

General Keens Badges.. We don't need no stinking badges. Double tabbed.. He needs to lift up his breast pocket flap to display all of his hoooa badges!
SF, Ranger, Combat Scuba, Pathfinder, CIB, EIB, Master Parachutist! I did not see Humanitarian or Philanthropist badges however he should get those as well!  Time Magazine should make the troops under his command people of the year!

Holster Follow up

I forgot to mention where I purchased my holsters...In case you wanted to get a Galco holster of your own Amazon has some good deals.

Lobby Day In Richmond

Thanks to all the folks from VCDL and HRTP that are on their way to Richmond to "lobby" the politicians and convince/remind them who they are working for!

Gun owners to descend on Virginia General Assembly in Richmond (Martin
Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 18th, 2010)

Complete Transformation of Gun Rights Laws Sought for 2010

As in years past, hundreds of members of the Virginia citizens Defense
League will gather at the General Assembly in Richmond at 9AM on the
morning of Martin Luther King Day (Monday, Jan. 18th, 2010) to conduct
coordinated lobby operations. Some will drive for hours to attend and
stay overnight in Richmond area hotels.

The theme for the 2010 VCDL Lobby day is "Transforming Gun Rights in
Virginia."

Bills have been filed already to (1) repeal the ban on concealed carry
in restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages, (2) repeal the ban on
purchasing more than one handgun a month, (3) allow a concealed handgun
permit holder to carry a concealed handgun in any government facility
being used as an emergency shelter, and (4) to streamline the
application process for concealed handgun permits by (a) allowing
applicants to apply for permits by mail and (b) without having to submit
to fingerprinting.

NOTE: Only a very few other states ban concealed carry in restaurants
that serve alcoholic beverages or ration handgun purchases, and 75% of
Virginia localities do NOT require fingerprinting anyway, including
Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties, and the City of Richmond.

Throughout Lobby Day, hundreds of gun owning constituents wearing "Guns
Save Lives" stickers will visit legislators and staff members to discuss
the VCDL gun rights agenda, drop off the VCDL legislative analysis white
paper, and attend committee hearings. Many of these law-abiding
citizens will be carrying loaded handguns and bringing friends, family,
and kids in tow.

VCDL Lobby Day culminates in a rally on the capitol clock tower green at
11AM to listen to pro-gun rights leaders and speakers - videos of past
rallies can be found at VCDL.org's main page.

VCDL’s Lobby Day 2010 activities are summarized at

Attacking the 2nd Ammendment

A re-post from John and others...

I have no idea if this is on the level; but, if it is true, it would be consistent with the aims of Obama and Eric Holder, US Attorney General.

It sure would be easier for Obama to establish his "National Civilian Security Force" if folks like us were disarmed!  I know that I may seem fixated on the NCSF; but, when Obama took the time to mention it in his speech back on 2 July 2008, he intends to pursue its establishment.

John

On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States.

The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations.

By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress.

Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments.

These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg.

The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws.
Does that mean Obama is telling the truth?

What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress.

We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public.

We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary,  so will gun control.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

"Seriously, Dems? Proposing (and God forbid) enacting such Draconian tax policies will only get the Democrats voted out of office, which wouldn't be a bad thing. I truly regret voting for Obama."

Holsters

I am relatively new to the whole concept of carrying a weapon while cruising around town.  As a military type the options are plentiful yet limited in some ways.  Your holster will either be on a web belt, a shoulder holster, affixed in some fashion to your body armor or drop leg type. As a civilian the options are much more plentiful.  I like the idea of concealed however the weapon of choice does not "conceal" well on account of it size.

I have worked so far with three different arrangements; London Bridge shoulder holster, Blackhawk CQC paddle and most recently a Galco model CM248.  All have their inherent advantages and disadvantages.

The shoulder holster is some sense in my personal favorite.  I can balance the weapon out with a couple of extra magazines or a mag and a light and the gear all but disappears.  A disadvantage is access, the holster is usually under a shirt or a jacket and getting to it causes a little bit of an issue.  Additionally, the cross member on the neck rides a little funny from time to time.  However when on the bike, hunting or doing active things the shoulder holster is the perfect fit.

The CQC holster is by far the quickest access of the three different types.  Lift push the retaining lever and pull and you are ready for action.  However this holster is a little harder to conceal and does not "ride" well when driving or sitting for long periods.

My most recent purchase, the Galco holster, fits snugly to my hip, conceals well and "rides" well.  I wore this the other day out shopping, hauling kids in and out of cars, loading groceries and my wife did not even notice that I was carrying.  A disadvantage is the removal of the weapon from the holster.  Not the quickest or cleanest of the three.

Nuff said!

The death of the "Aviator"

From the WSJ.com

"In 2009, for the first time, the U.S. Air Force trained more "pilots" for unmanned aircraft than for manned fighters and bombers."

An interesting article for those that care!

WW II Battleship sailor tells Obama to shape up or ship out !

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country.. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now.
He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year.  People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert..

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate.  Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world,"America is mean-spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you.  To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British?  Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War?  I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.  What have you done?

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination.  You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American.  If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue.  You were elected to lead, not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight?  You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing.  I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son.  Do your job.  When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him.  But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out.  The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy.  That's not our greatest threat.  Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes

The Doctrine of the Three Percent

We will not disarm.

You cannot convince us.

You cannot intimidate us.

You can try to kill us, if you think you can.

But remember, we'll shoot back.

And we are not going away.

Your move.

Believe it or Not

The Obama Trifecta:

President Obama just completed the UNHOLY and ANTI-AMERICAN TRIFECTA:

1st president in 110 years to miss the annual Army-Navy Football Game.

1st president to not attend any Christmas religious observance.

1st president to stay on vacation after a terrorist attack.

Why I hate MDF

You cannot find much today that is not made with this stuff, especially childrens toys and furnature!  This stuff sucks!  What happened to good old American OAK products?  I guess flooring.  The stuff being discussed today is crappier then MDF, if that is possible.  This stuff, from the cross section, looks like a bunch of paper shopping bags pressed together!

Anyhow CC got a little too aggressive and ripped the "refrigerator" door, (which was made of pressed shopping bag crap!)  off of her kitchen set play area.  Now we cannot have the little one without a refer door so daddy, who can fix anything, well according to little CC, needed to have her POS MDF door fixed, repaired, replaced!
