Shanandoah Valley

Crackerz and I recently, well crackerz is still there, went into the valley, for we feared no evil for well, at least nutz was the dirtiest mind around. Anyhow we went to the shanandoah valley for a long weekend. Part business trip part micro vacation. It was my first trip west of Richmond. Pretty said considering I have been living here better then 4 years. Well ok, more correctly my first trip in a car. I had been to Charlottsville and points north west by air on several occasions but never in a vehicle with 4 wheels and the opportunites to stop and smell the cow patties.

At any extent our HQ was in Harrisonburg which is incedently the home of James Madison Univ. and where Crackerz is supposedly attending a confernce about online technologies and education. However everytime I talk to her, she is boozing it up at Outback or some other fine drinking establishement.

Well to pass our time, we developed plans for our arc, got a little bit of rain while visiting the valley. We also took a little drive along "Sky Line Drive". Part of the National Park System that runs though Shanandoah national forrest. A nice little trip of about 40 miles. Saw some neat things like scenic overlooks into cloud banks, turkeys and deer. We even saw the occasional back packers. I think I might like to hike a portion of the appilachain trail if I ever get some free time. I think the fall would be a great tome to do it as well. You never know what might happen..

After our micro vacation Crackerz and I parted ways. I will be back up there beofre she knows it to cart her off to the great white north. If she thought the valley was pretty this time of year she aint seen nothing yet. I am thinking Leland for some smoked chubs..

Robbers

If you are thinking of lifting some goods from the beach house, beware! Our cabana boy is on the prowl and he is not afraid of pimpcracking you with a 9 while Crackerz and I are out galivanting around the hills of western Virginia. It is pretty out here this time of year... I think I need to do a few miles on the appilachain trail to make me appreciate my good fortune in life.

Anyhow we are once again taking advantage of the situation and living large... As Jimmy would say the weather is here, wish you were beautiful! Cabana Boy shoot twice ask questions later.

More food for thought..

The 51st state recently had a little run in with our bearded friends from the "Religion of Peace". As a result, the news and of course the good conservative radio shows jumped on the band wagon, like I am. Can you name a terroist in recent history who is/was not a muslim? All you left wingers can shut your trap cuz Timothy McVeigh of Oklahoma city was an anomolay. Some have a battle cry remember the Cole.... remember the IKE will not be mine!!

Cheers and happy hunting to "my" brothers in the sandbox!

Food and Wine Report

I know it has been a while since I have left an update for you all and i am sure you all are quite peturbed! So here we go, I will no longer give Crackerz the free rein of being creative. from now on she will have to be directed by me to create an entry..... Yeah I might have had a little too much wine to drink tonight... Talking wine, while we explored newport news and other points thie past weekend, we stumbled upon a store called World Market. A neat little place, a mix between Pier One and specialty grocery store. In addition to the new umbrella we purchased, our old onw was detroyed by mother nature, we purchased a bottle of Blackstone Syrahz. Pretty good and it goes well with the spagetti I made with out long spagetti noodles. Oops, however the sauce went well with the macaroni noodle and we needed to use up some left over taco fixings.
Back to the wine; for those that partake or imbibe, it is a California red of the '03 vintage. Suprisingly mild. I am not a big fan of reds that are harsh and affect the back of the throat with a tingle. Smooth and not much of an after taste. Sounds like a cigar I recently smoked. Yep a good wine, I think we paid something like $8 or $12 I am not sure and Crackerz for some reason scraped off the price tag. For the more taditional types, there is even a real cork sealing the good stuff from the elements! Yippe..
