Northam Update RE SB334

So what is more important to Senator Northam, the safety of the general public or infringing on the rights of the citizens of the commonwealth?  

If Senator Northam is concerned about the safety of the general public when it comes to bars and restaurants which serve alcohol; maybe legislation should be introduced and passed which makes it a crime to consume alcohol while in possession of car keys while in a bar or restaurant.  If you are a car driver you need to ensure that your car keys are clearly visible and not concealed. After all alcohol/automobile deaths in 2008 were 300 plus and injuries were over 6000. 

How many alcohol related gun deaths were there by "licensed" concealed weapon carriers?  Might be quite a revealing study?  Anybody have any good stats?

Attacking the 2nd Ammendment

I have no idea if this is on the level; but, if it is true, it would be consistent with the aims of Obama and Eric Holder, US Attorney General. 

It sure would be easier for Obama to establish his "National Civilian Security Force" if folks like us were disarmed!  I know that I may seem fixated on the NCSF; but, when Obama took the time to mention it in his speech back on 2 July 2008, he intends to pursue its establishment.

On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States. 

The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. 

By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress.

Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. 

These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg.

The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws.

Does that mean Obama is telling the truth?

What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. 

We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. 

We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary,  so will gun control.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

Holsters

I am relatively new to the whole concept of carrying a weapon while cruising around town.  As a military type the options are plentiful yet limited in some ways.  Your holster will either be on a web belt, a shoulder holster, affixed in some fashion to your body armor or drop leg type. As a civilian the options are much more plentiful.  I like the idea of concealed however the weapon of choice does not "conceal" well on account of it size. 

I have worked so far with three different arrangements; London Bridge shoulder holster, Blackhawk CQC paddle and most recently a Galco model CM248.  All have their inherent advantages and disadvantages. 

The shoulder holster is some sense in my personal favorite.  I can balance the weapon out with a couple of extra magazines or a mag and a light and the gear all but disappears.  A disadvantage is access, the holster is usually under a shirt or a jacket and getting to it causes a little bit of an issue.  Additionally, the cross member on the neck rides a little funny from time to time.  However when on the bike, hunting or doing active things the shoulder holster is the perfect fit. 

The CQC holster is by far the quickest access of the three different types.  Lift push the retaining lever and pull and you are ready for action.  However this holster is a little harder to conceal and does not "ride" well when driving or sitting for long periods. 

My most recent purchase, the Galco holster, fits snugly to my hip, conceals well and "rides" well.  I wore this the other day out shopping, hauling kids in and out of cars, loading groceries and my wife did not even notice that I was carrying.  A disadvantage is the removal of the weapon from the holster.  Not the quickest or cleanest of the three.

Brady Center speaks.....

Why does the Brady Center want to leave the innocent unprotected?

"It is a case that calls out for common sense," Brady Center attorney Daniel Vice said then. "It's ridiculous to bring a gun to a child's soccer game."

So, the Brady center must think it is also ridiculous to bring a gun to child's classroom or a center of higher learning or a National Forrest?

So, all of you police officers, leave your bullet launchers at home, it is ridiculous to bring a gun where children are present, especially you police officers at Virginia Tech, and Columbine HS Colorado, The Amish School in PA, and the school at Winnenden Germany and many others!

"Children were sitting at their tables, with pencils still in their hands, their heads fallen over on the table," said regional police director Ralf Michelfelder, describing the grisly scene that his officers found. "Most of them had shots in their head — it must have all happened in seconds."

NUTZ: Too bad the police were minutes away when seconds counted to stop this needless act of violence. Why does the Brady Center want to prevent people from being able to protect themselves from criminals?

Still not convinced, the Brady Center should also be complicent in the recent murder of two Virginia Tech students in The Jefferson National Forrest.

Washington, DC - A federal court today permanently vacated a last-minute Bush Administration rule allowing the carrying of loaded, concealed firearms in national parks and wildlife refuges. Responding to lawsuits filed by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and parks groups, the court had previously issued a temporary injunction staying enforcement of the Bush rule, finding that the rule was “astoundingly flawed” and issued in violation of the National Environmental Policy Act.

I am sure Mike Peters of Mother Goose and Grimm would like to redue his strip from August 31st 2009

"Chet Szymecki of open-carry-gun-toting fame. Recently Norfolk gave him $15,000. He’s now suing again. Every policeman in town ought to memorize this fellow’s features and then leave him alone. To gun enthusiasts, he’s the man. The rest of us at least recognize his name as he’s often in the news.

Some day Mr. Szymecki will meet the criminal against whom he’s carried protection all these years. The criminal will come up from behind, place a gun to the back of Mr. Szymecki’s head, and say, “Give me your wallet.”

Will Mr. Szymecki have time to unsnap his holster, seize his gun, take off the safety, aim, and shoot before the criminal pulls his own trigger? Unfortunately, no. Meanwhile, Chet Szymecki serves as one of our unusual people. A man with a cause."

Nutz Comments- You can rest assured that if the above scenario ever happens, Mr. Szymecki will save the tax payers of the Common Wealth hundreds of thousands of dollars in court fees, investigation fees, incarceration fees by simply putting 3 $.38 cent .45 caliber bullets in the back of the criminal who just threatened the life of an innocent citizen. Maybe all the criminals should become more familiar with Mr Szymecki and look for easier pray maybe the stenographer for Ahno and Porque. Now that Michael Vick is back in town maybe he can volunteer as a community service to take them, Ahno and Porque for a walk?

Oh, once again, the point is proven, when seconds count the police are minutes away.

The funny thing here is that I was chatting about this article with my wife and a friend when who appears at my front door?? None other then the "man" himself.

NORFOLK

A Yorktown advocate of the right to openly carry firearms has filed another federal lawsuit over his one-hour detention during the June 2007 Harborfest, this one alleging excessive force against four policemen involved.

Chester "Chet" Szymecki Jr., who is proceeding without a lawyer, alleges that intentionally tight handcuffs and his physical removal from the festival site at Town Point Park caused pain and aggravated existing neurological problems. He seeks $2 million plus costs.

The local criminal charge against him over wearing a holstered .45-caliber handgun at the festival was withdrawn. Virginia law prohibits localities from regulating firearms.

The city settled a previous federal suit over the constitutionality of his arrest with a $15,000 payout before a scheduled December trial but admitted no wrongdoing.

City Attorney Bernard Pishko said Thursday that the city's position is that there was no excessive force.

"The officers' version doesn't confirm Szymecki's allegations," Pishko said.
