Nutz & Crackerz Celebrate First Year of Happiness Together

Yeah right... it feels more like an eternity in pergatory... just kidding however as how I am the poster of the bloggs, I get to have the creative liberty to write what ever I dam well feel like. Seriously though, we have had a good year and people still to this date comment about how much fun they had at the wedding. Talking about the wedding, to help celebrate our year together, we ventured over historic Ft. Monroe on sunday to enjoy the good times we spent there. A great place. We even had brunch at the Irish pub just out side the main gate. Good times. Continuing on with our romatic day on the road, we drove around the bay going through Smithfield Suffolk and eventully ending up on military highway to come back home. Along the way we did stop at the occasional Jeep store for we have been talking about the idea of getting a little two seater to bee bop around the countryside in. Who knows.
It was a good day and we had some fun. Crackerz even found one of her favorite stores Belks were we were able to spend some of our gift cards we have left over from the wedding. Good times! I am sure there will be many more in the future. Oh and yes contrary to popular belief inspite of her fiestiness, I do love the old lady! Yes baby you are the old lady and you love to rub that fact in my face all the time... older and wiser. Happy Anniversary!

Crackerz Goes back to Gator Land!

You may have recently read in a newspaper or seen on TV where a man was eaten by a gator!? Well yeah that is where Crackerz is from and I think she is pretty crackerz hence the name. Anyhow she went home for a few days to catch some swimmers ear and frolic in the pool with her nephues! I am glad she had fun and she always needs to go do her own thing when i am out doing my own thing.. This option is a good thing... it helps keep us sane and keep crackerz from strangling me. The fun thing about these posts is that she does not write any and so I get to have all the fun!! Maybe she will post some of her pix here some day!

"Juan the Black" Shoe finds his Beaver at 4am in Detroit

Nutz sails the inland Seas!

People live in America and they dont realize that in the center of the country, not to far from Canada is a series of big ass lakes! When they finally lay their eyes upon on of these immense lakes, they are in awe. I had the opportunity once again to introduce the lakes to a good friend os mine, Juan the Black Shoe. I think he and his Puerto Rican roots where impressed. Not only did the lake impress him but the experiance we shared opened his eyes to a whole new world and better understanding of my roots.
You see Juan the Black Shoe, 29, Rick, my father and I all set sail from Muskegon to Chicago for the worlds longest fresh water sail boat race, the Chicago to Mackinac race. Our total distance traveled was well over 600 nautical miles so lots of water under the keel.
The entire saga of getting the boat to chicago, partying in the windy city, racing up the lake and the trip home are each an entry in themselves. So I am going to try and give myself a little leway and fill in some of the blanks so those that did not participate can participate via reading this blog! Oh yeah, by the way, I was on the road once again for my birthday. Howmany kids can say that?

Hogans Alley

If you are new to the Ocean View area then it is quite obvious as to its beauty and its hardend inner core. For us locals with a little bit of OV history under our butts then we know even more about its darker side.

There is a up and coming drive called First View Avenue. Mush has been done on this street in this past few years to make it more of an up and coming place. My daily commute to the office take me down this drag multiple times during the day. It is nice to see the changes being made. I also have made some "friends" along the way. The dude at the post office and the little traffic lady at the catholic school.

First View Ave, although quaint and up and coming also has its more sinister side. In the two years in change that I have been prowling its darkened corners, there has been lots of death on this street. Most recently a stabbing. A little more barbaric then the 3 shooting deaths but none the less, another death on First View. So be weary when you travel down Hogans Alley as I lovingly refer to First View Ave. After the FBI's urban shooting range. For your first view of the area might be your last!

Well we are back from the Big Weddding in Maine, A very interesting experiance! If you ever have the opportunity to visit costal Maine then do so. I was quite please with its beauty. We specifially were in a region just north of Portland called Sebasco. Very nice and the lobster was fantastic. Additionally Freeport, the home of LL Bean was just down the street. Maine reminded me alot of northen Michigan in the summer time complete with big old ferns. Very nice.
In addition to all of the scenic beauty, we Crackerz and I had a good time with the family as well. Always an adventure when the Grizwalds get together. I am sure i could go on and on here about all the fun that was had but I will let it ride for a bit to see if any one else would like to comment about the fun!

Our trip home was a blast as well. Crackerz and I spent about 7 hours in the Portland airport (PWM) waiting for a broken plane to be fixed. Good quality time together. ON the plus side Indepndence Airlines gave us free booze on the trip back down to Dulles!!!

All fun!
