Nutz takes the cute neighbor girl into the wild blue yonder

So i am back in the swing of things and have returned to flying the mighty Tomahawk aeroplane!! Aaah the joys of aviation. Anyhow Crackerz was feeling a little under the weather so the Cute Neighbor girl (CNG) willingly vouluntreed to make the ascent into the azure skies over the tide water. I had fun and I think CNG had some fun as well. I do need to get my pretty wife up and fly her around, maybe when she starts felling a little better.. A bit of a naging cold is pestering her! If anyone in the area wants to go for a ride, please give me a shout and we can work something out!

They go in threes...

And the final one for this sequence is none other then the infamous and brutal dictator
Saddam Hussein!

I dont think he will be sharing a bungalo with JB and the pres.. Saddam's after-life real estate will be a little warmer...

Happy New Year!

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet
table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see
carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum
balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt
scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You
can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares
that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to
turn into an eggnog-aholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have
one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of
gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of
your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy.
Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or
whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother?
It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control
your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat
other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?!

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New
Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do.
This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the
buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of
eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like
frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position
yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before
becoming the center of attention.
They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're
never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or,
if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always
have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor
Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the
mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have
SOME standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party
or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread
tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.
Remember this motto to live by:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, totally
worn out and screaming,

"WOO HOO what a ride!"

Read carefully before you vote for the next President!

I concur with what the SS says about GW based off my conversations with SS agents aboard the USS IWO JIMA while it was moored in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina!
NUTZ
Air Force One Passengers

AS THEY SAY IN SPAIN, YOU CAN HAVE NO SECRETS FROM THE SERVANTS!

YOU WILL FIND THE SECRET SERVICE VIEWS ON THE PERSONALITIES OF PAST PRESIDENTS TO BE QUITE INTERESTING.

For those who don't know... Capt. Denny Keast flies for UAL and flew many SAM's (Special Air Mission's) for the White House.

Subject: Secret Service I flew 4 Presidential support missions in the C-141 out of Dover AFB, DE Two for President Johnson and two for President Nixon.

Johnson was a first class jerk and on the two occasions I flew for him, if the Secret Service and their Liaison in the Pentagon hadn't intervened, we would have had to stay on the airplane for hours while he (Johnson) was off somewhere. Nixon never required that and the four (4)
stops we made with him he was cordial to the Secret Service and to me and my crew.

We had a neighbor when I lived in DC who was part of the secret service presidential detail for many years. His stories of Kennedy and Johnson were the same as those I heard from the guys who flew the presidents' plane Yes, Kennedy did have Marilyn Monroe flown in for secret "dates," and LBJ was a typical Texas "good ole boy" womanizer. Nixon, Bush 41, and Carter never cheated on their wives. Clinton cheated, but couldn't match Kennedy or LBJ in style or variety.

The information below is accurate: The elder Bush and current president Bush make it a point to thank and take care of the air crews who fly them around.

When the president flies, there are several planes that also go, one carries the armored limo, another the security detail, plus usually a press aircraft.

Both Bush's made it a point to stay home on holidays, so the Air Force and security people could have a day with their families.

WHAT WAS:

Hillary Clinton was arrogant and orally abusive to her security detail.
She forbade her daughter, Chelsea , from exchanging pleasantries with them. Sometimes Chelsea , miffed at her mother's obvious conceit and mean spiritedness ignored her demands and exchanged pleasantries regardless, but never in her mother's presence.

Chelsea really was a nice, kindhearted, and lovely young lady. The consensus opinion was that Chelsea loved her Mom but did not like her.

Hillary Clinton was continuously rude and abrasive to those who were charged to protect her life. Her security detail dutifully did their job, as professionals should, but they all loathed her and wanted to be on a different detail.

Hillary Clinton was despised by the Secret Service as a whole. Former President Bill Clinton was much more amiable than his wife. Often the Secret Service would cringe at the verbal attacks Hillary would use against her husband. They were embarrassed for his sake by the manner and frequency in which she verbally insulted him, sometimes in the presence of the Secret Service, and sometimes behind closed doors. Even behind closed doors Hillary Clinton would scream and holler so loudly that everyone could hear what she was saying.

Many felt sorry for President Clinton and most wondered why he tolerated it instead of just divorcing his "attack dog" wife. It was crystal clear that the Clinton 's neither liked nor respected each other and this was true long before the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Theirs was genuinely a "marriage of convenience."

Chelsea was much closer to her father than her mother, even after the Lewinsky scandal, which hurt her gravely. Bill Clinton did in fact have charisma, and occasionally would smile at or shake hands with his security detail. Still, he always displayed an obvious air of superiority towards them.

His security detail uniformly believed him to be disingenuous, false, and that he did nothing without a motive that in some way would enhance his image and political career. He was polite, but not kind. They did not particularly like him and nobody trusted him.

WHAT COUL D HAVE BEEN:

Al Gore was the male version of Hillary Clinton. They were more friendly toward each other than either of them were towards former President Clinton.

They were not intimate, so please don't read that in. They were very close in a political way. Tipper Gore was generally nice and pleasant.
She initially liked Hillary but soon after the election she had her "pegged" and no longer liked her or associated with her except for events that were politically obligatory.

Al Gore was far more left wing than Bill Clinton. Al Gore resented Bill Clinton and thought he was too "centrist." He despised all Republicans.
His hatred was bitter and this was long before he announced for the Presidency. This hatred was something that he and Hillary had in common.
They often said as much, even in the presence of their security detail.

Neither of them trusted Bill Clinton and, the Secret Service opined, neither of them even liked Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton did have some good qualities, whereas Al Gore and Hillary had none, in the view of their security details.

Al Gore, like Hillary, was very rude and arrogant toward his security detail. He was extremely unappreciative and would not hesitate to scold them in the presence of their peers for minor details over which they had no control. Al Gore also looked down on them, as they finally observed and learned with certainty on one occasion. Al got angry at his offspring and pointed at his security detail and said, "Do you want to grow up and be like them?"

Word of this insult by the former Vice-President quickly spread and he became disliked by the Secret Service as Hillary. Most of them prayed Al Gore would not be elected President, and they really did have private celebrations in a few of their homes after President Bush won. This was not necessarily to celebrate President Bush's election, but to celebrate Al Gore's defeat.

WHAT IS:

Everyone in the Secret Service wants to be on First Lady Laura Bush's detail. Without exception, they concede that she is perhaps the nicest and most kind person they have ever had the privilege of serving. Where Hillary patently refused to allow her picture to be taken with her security detail, Laura Bush doesn't even have to be asked, she offers.
She doesn't just shake their hand and say, "Thank you." Very often, she will give members of her detail a kindhearted hug to express her appreciation. There is nothing false about her. This is her genuine nature. Her security detail considers her to be a "breath of fresh air."
They joke that comparing Laura Bush with Hillary Clinton is like comparing "Mother Teresa" with the "Wicked Witch of the North."

Likewise, the Secret Service considers President Bush to be a gem of a man to work for. He always treats them with genuine respect and he always trusts and listens to their expert advice. They really like the Crawford, Texas detail. Every time the president goes to Crawford he has a Bar-B-Q for his security detail and he helps serve their meals. He sits with them, eats with them, and talks with them. He knows each of them by their first name, and calls them by their first name as a show of affection. He always asks about their family, the names of which he always remembers. They believe that he is deeply and genuinely appreciative of their service. They could not like, love, or respect anyone more than President Bush.

Most of them did not know they would feel this way, until they had an opportunity to work for him and learn that his manner was genuine and consistent. It has never changed since he began his Presidency. He always treats them with the utmost respect, kindness, and compassion.

Cool guy stuff

I am quite thankful of the opportunities life has provided me. Recently
Crackerz and I were sitting on the couch watching the news and a little
blurb came on about bees being used to search for explosives. I proudly
admitted to my lovely wife that a year ago I was briefed on this
particular project. Shortly there after on NCIS, the episode focused on
a "killer" autonomous hummer. One of the characters had a striking
similarity to the director of the Stanford team that participated in
DARPA Challenge 2006. Yes I met this guy as well and rode around in his
cool guy fully autonomous Volkswagen! Not quite a hummer but still
pretty darn cool!

A google shared document experiment!

This is a cool thing from Google!!

29 Nov 2006 Did I mention how cool this is??

Crackerz was here!! No I wasn't...now I've been here! Love, me xoxo

You are a goof ball!!! I love you though my pretty wife!! Smoooch... when ru coming home I miss you???

Check this out..
Did anything change?

In the middle of the night...

It is kind of interesting wokring the night shift from 7pm to 7am... I wake up around 2:30-3:00 in the afternoon. Do a few errons, take a shower grab a bite to eat and by 6:15pm I am no the road to the office..I get to work, do my thing for a couple of hours. Around 1am I take an extended lunch and go to the gym to "wakeup" for about 30-45minutes. Arond 2:30am I am eating lunch! At 7am my relief comes in, and I drive home with traffic and all the problems the cause. By 8:30am I am lights out, the cycle repeats.
This sort of wreaks havoc on my social life but it actually works out well for Crackerz and I. By 830am Crackerz is on her way out the door to the office and shortly after I wake up, she is on her way home from the office. So we do see easch other for a few hours.. How lucky!

Things are beginning to look a lot like....

A Different Christmas Poem

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room
and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic
in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, Transforming the yard to a
winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, Completed the magic that was
Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by
love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem, So I slumbered, perhaps I
started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,But I opened my eyes when
it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the sure sound of
footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear, And I crept to the door
just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night, A lone figure stood,
his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old, Perhaps a Marine, huddled
here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled, Standing watch over me, and
my wife and my child.
"What are you doing?" I asked without fear, "Come in this moment, it's
freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve, You should be at
home on a cold Christmas Eve!"

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift, Away from the cold and the
snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light Then he sighed and he
said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night." "It's my duty to stand at
the front of the line, That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me, I'm proud to stand here like my
fathers before me.
My Gramps died at 'Pearl on a day in December," Then he sighed, "That's
a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam', And now it is my turn
and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while, But my wife sends me
pictures, he's sure got her smile.

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag, The red, white, and
blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone, Away from my family, my
house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet, I can sleep in a
foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another, Or lay down my life with my
sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all, To ensure for all time that
this flag will not fall."

"So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright, Your family is waiting
and I'll be all right."
"But isn't there something I can do, at the least, "Give you money," I
asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done, For being away from
your wife and your son."
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret, "Just tell us you love
us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone, To stand your own
watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead, To know you remember we
fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust, That we mattered to you
as you mattered to us."

Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S.service
men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities. Let's
try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop
and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for
us.

Political Correctness has gone too far

ARABIAN NIGHTMARES
By RALPH PETERS
November 15, 2006 -- YESTERDAY, 80 terrorists in police uniforms raided
an Iraqi research institute in Baghdad, rounded up 100-plus male
students, loaded them into vehicles in broad daylight and drove away.
They couldn't have pulled it off without the complicity of key elements
within the Iraqi security services and the government: "our guys."
The students probably will be executed and dumped somewhere. Partly for
the crime of wanting to study and build a future, but primarily just to
step up the level of terror yet again.
Apart from highlighting the type of regime of which both Shia and Sunni
Arab extremists dream - a land of disciplined ignorance and slavish
devotion - the mass kidnapping also highlights the feebleness of our
attempts to overcome ruthless enemies with generosity and good manners.
With Iraqi society decomposing - or, at best, reverting to a medieval
state with cell phones - the debate in Washington over whether to try to
save the day by deploying more troops or withdrawing some is of
secondary relevance.
What really matters is what our forces are ordered - and permitted - to
do. With political correctness permeating our government and even the
upper echelons of the military, we never tried the one technique that
has a solid track record of defeating insurgents if applied
consistently: the rigorous imposition of public order.
That means killing the bad guys. Not winning their hearts and minds,
placating them or bringing them into the government. Killing them.
If you're not willing to lay down a rule that any Iraqi or foreign
terrorist masquerading as a security official or military member will be
shot, you can't win. And that's just one example of the type of
sternness this sort of fight requires.
With the situation in Iraq deteriorating daily, sending more troops
would simply offer our enemies more targets - unless we decided to use
our soldiers and Marines for the primary purpose for which they exist:
To fight.
Of course, we've made a decisive shift in our behavior difficult. After
empowering a sectarian regime before imposing order in the streets, we
would have to defy an elected government. Leading voices in the Baghdad
regime - starting with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki - would demand
that we halt any serious effort to defeat Shia militias and eliminate
their death squads.
Killing Sunni Arabs would be fine, of course. The Maliki government's
reason for being is to promote Shia power.
Reportedly, our CENTCOM commander, Gen. George Abizaid, just had a "come
to Jesus meeting" (metaphor fully intended) with Maliki, warning him
that our continued support is contingent on the government moving to
impose public order and protect all of Iraq's people. The result is
predictable: A few law-enforcement gestures by daylight, some reshuffled
government appointments - and more sectarian killing.
>From the Iraqi perspective, we're of less and less relevance. They're
sure we'll leave. And every faction is determined to do as much damage
as possible to the other before we go. Our troops have become human
shields for our enemies.
To master Iraq now - if it could be done - we'd have to fight every
faction except the Kurds. Are we willing to do that? Are we willing to
kill mass murderers and cold-blooded executioners on the spot?
If not, we can't win, no matter what else we do.
Arrest them? We've tried that. Iraq's judges are so partisan or so
terrified (or both) that they release the worst thugs within weeks -
sometimes within days.
How would you like to be one of Iraq's handful of relatively honest cops
knowing that any terrorist or sectarian butcher you bust is going to be
back on the block before your next payday? And yeah, they know where you
live.
Our "humanity" is cowardice masquerading as morality. We're protecting
self-appointed religious executioners with our emphasis on a "universal
code of behavior" that only exists in our fantasies. By letting the
thugs run the streets, we've abandoned the millions of Iraqis who really
would prefer peaceful lives and a modicum of progress.
We're blind to the fundamental moral travesty in Iraq (and elsewhere):
Spare the killers in the name of human rights, and you deprive the
overwhelming majority of the population of their human rights. Instead
of being proud of ourselves for our "moral superiority," we should be
ashamed to the depths of our souls.
We're not really the enemy of the terrorists, militiamen and insurgents.
We're their enablers. In the end, the future of Iraq will be determined
by its people. The question is, which people?
Our naive version of wartime morality handed Iraq to the murderers. Will
our excuse for a sectarian bloodbath be that we "behaved with
restraint?"
Any code of ethics that squanders the lives of tens of thousands and the
future of millions so we can "claim the moral high ground" is hypocrisy
worthy of the Europeans who made excuses for the Holocaust.
If we want to give Iraq's silent - and terrified - majority a last
chance, we would have to accept the world's condemnation for killing the
killers. If we are unwilling to do that, Iraq's finished.
Ralph Peters' most recent book is "Never Quit the Fight."

Success in the War on Terror

Ok, what is the definition of the of "Success" with respect to the war against terror.

The answer is quite simple. For every single American to be able to travel the world freely without fear of being kidnapped, beheaded, hi-jacked, bombed in subways, buses, disco techs, or in their places of employment. Simple.

We can pull our troops out of Iraq only after we bring our troops home from Germany, England, South Korea, Bosnia, and Japan!

Here is a question for you. When the next terrorist attack takes place on American soil, who will the democrats blame?

Some thoughts

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said:

A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in ... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom. If you want to pass this on I think it would be appropriate, as many seem to forget BOTH of them.

Rocky Patel

Ok so it was a Saturday evening and I had just finished cutting the grass in the back yard. I was home alone because JJ was down in Dallas at some sort of convention. So it was time to fire up by the fire, smoke a "new" cigar and drink a little whiskey.. Why wouldn't I? It was a nice night, I was not feeling too social, so I did just that. Tonight's cigar was a Rocky Patel Sun Grown stogie. I suppose I will have to develope some sort of ratings for cigars however here are my impressions althought slightly altered from the influence of Crown Royal.

Draw: Pretty smooth, no issues

Burn Time: I sucked on this thing for about 45 minutes or so.

Uniform Burn: The cigar burned well through out the evolotion.

Flavor: I was suprised with this one, the flavor was actually quite mild.

After Taste: To be honest the next days aftertaste was not too aweful!

Price: Unknown Cigar Dave Special

Purchase Again: Yes

Bandit in The Back Yard!

A masked bandit was spotted jumping the fence tonight while Nutz enjoyed a a cool evning a cool cup of whiskey and a fine cigar.
Nutz had finished up cutting an early november lawn and was enjoyign the great outdoors by a fire when a rustle in the bushes interupted his refelctions of the day.
A coone was spotted traversing the arch of light given off by the small fire by which Nutz was sitting. We are not certain who was more scared, the four legged creature of the night or the fearless warrior of the skies?

I guess we now know who the mystery pooper is in the back yard! So if you see Nutz traipsing about looking like Daniel Boone you will know who was the master of the night!

Elections

Crackerz and I were sitting on the couch watching TV and an election ad on tv. The ad was accusing Thelma Drake the local republican for voting in the house for increasing taxes. The ad was quite misleading in the fact that Thelma was actually voting on the Fair Tax which, would actually reduce taxes!!! Contrary to the ad where it suggested that she was raising taxes! Anyhow it always pays to question exactly what you read, see and watch!

More Good Reading!

Please take the time to read the attached essay by Dr. Chong. It is without a doubt the most articulate and convincing writing I have read regarding the War in Iraq. If you have any doubts please open your mind to his essay and give it a fair evaluation.

I had no idea who Dr. Chong is or the source of these thoughts... so when I received them, I almost deleted them - as well-written as they are. But then I did a "Google search" on the Doctor and found him to be a retired Air Force Surgeon, of all things, and past Commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. So he is real, is connected to Veterans affairs in California, and these are his thoughts. They are worth reading and thinking about! (the same Google search will direct you to some of his other thought-provoking writings.)

Subject: Muslims, terrorists and the USA....A different spin on Iraq war. This WAR is for REAL!
Dr. Vernon Chong, Major General, USAF, Retired
Tuesday, July 12, 2005

To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it. Our country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as we know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which includes WWII).

The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that there are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even fewer who realize what losing really means.

First, let's examine a few basics:
1. When did the threat to us start?
Many will say September 11, 2001. The answer as far as the United State is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us:
* Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979;
* Beirut, Lebanon Embassy 1983;
* Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983;
* Lockerbie, Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988;
* First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;
* Dhahran, Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996;
* Nairobi, Kenya US Embassy 1998;
* Dares Salaam, Tanzania US Embassy 1998;
* Aden, Yemen USS Cole 2000;
* New York World Trade Center 2001;
* Pentagon 2001.
(Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581 terrorist attacks worldwide).

2. Why were we attacked?
Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms. The attacks happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents or their immediate predecessors; Presidents Ford or Carter.

3. Who were the attackers?
In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims.

4. What is the Muslim population of the World?
25%.

5. Isn't the Muslim Religion peaceful?
Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that the predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but under the dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also Christian), that made no difference. You either went along with the administration or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million Christians killed by the Nazis for political reasons (including 7,000 Polish priests). (see http://www.nazis.testimony.co.uk/7-a.htm <> )

Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the Nazis, as the six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them, and we seldom heard of anything other than the Jewish atrocities. Although Hitler kept the world focused on the Jews, he had no hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his way of exterminating the Jews or of taking over the world - German, Christian or any others.

Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US, but kill all in the way -- their own people or the Spanish, French or anyone else. The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were of no protection to anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection for us from the terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die?

6. So who are we at war with?
There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting.

So with that background, now to the two major questions:
1. Can we lose this war?

2. What does losing really mean?

If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal questions . We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question - What does losing mean?

It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get.

What losing really means is:
We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us, over the past 18 years. The plan was, clearly, for terrorist to attack us until we were neutered and submissive to them.

We would, of course, have no future support from other nations, for fear of reprisals and for the reason that they would see that we are impotent and cannot help them.

They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It will be increasingly easier for them. They already hold Spain hostage. It doesn't matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain to withdraw its troops from Iraq. Spain did it because the Muslim terrorists bombed their train and told them to withdraw the troops. Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is finished.

The next will probably be France Our one hope on France is that they might see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are finished too, in that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without us. However, it may already be too late for France. France is already 20% Muslim and fading fast!

If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or deal with us, if they were threatened by the Muslims? If we can't stop the Muslims, how could anyone else?

The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it too and be likewise committed to winning at any cost.

Why do I go on at such lengths about the results of losing? Simple. Until we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really put 100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to take that 100% effort to win.

So, how can we lose the war? Again, the answer is simple. We can lose the war by "imploding." That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and their purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to the war effort; if we are united, there is no way that we can lose. If we continue to be divided, there is no way that we can win!

Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend the life and death seriousness of this situation. President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation. Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously? This is war! For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of the civil rights we have become accustomed to. We had better be prepared to lose some of our civil rights temporarily or we will most certainly lose all of them permanently.

And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of civil rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the victory and in fact added many more since then.

Do I blame President Bush or President Clinton before him? No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our Political Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those words apply to war. Get them out of your head.

Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to see us lose. I hasten to add that this isn't because they are disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing means. Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy that we are divided and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it does great damage to our cause.

Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and media regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps exemplifies best what I am saying. We have recently had an issue, involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues and otherwise murdering their own people just for disagreeing with Saddam Hussein.

And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically killed 400,000 of their own people for the same reason. They are also the same type of enemy fighters, who recently were burning Americans, and dragging their charred corpses through the streets of Iraq.

And still more recently, the same type of enemy that was and is providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the beheading of American prisoners they held

Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for several days have thought and talked about nothing else but the "humiliating" of some Muslim prisoners -- not burning them, not dragging their charred corpses through the streets, not beheading them, but "humiliating" them. Can this be for real?

The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in and the disastrous results of losing this war, nothing can.

To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this prisoner issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned -- totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world. Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal strife. Again I say, this does not mean that some of our politicians or media people are disloyal. It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the magnitude, of the situation we are in and into which the Muslim terrorists have been pushing us, for many years.

Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels! That translates into ALL non-Muslims -- not just in the United States, but throughout the world.
We are the last bastion of defense.

We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That charge is valid in at least one respect. We are arrogant in that we believe that we are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win the hearts and minds of all those who attack us, and that with both hands tied behind our back, we can defeat anything bad in the world! We can't!

If we don't recognize this, our nation as we know it will not survive, and no other free country in the world will survive if we are defeated.

And finally, name any Muslim countries throughout the world that allow freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, equal rights for anyone -- let alone everyone, equal status or any status for women, or that have been productive in one single way that contributes to the good of the world.

This has been a long way of saying that we must be united on this war or we will be equated in the history books to the self-inflicted fall of the Roman Empire . If, that is, the Muslim leaders will allow history books to be written or read.

If we don't win this war right now, keep a close eye on how the Muslims take over France in the next 5 years or less. They will continue to increase the Muslim population of France and continue to encroach little by little, on the established French traditions. The French will be fighting among themselves, over what should or should not be done, which will continue to weaken them and keep them from any united resolve. Doesn't that sound eerily familiar?

Democracies don't have their freedoms taken away from them by some external military force. Instead, they give their freedoms away, politically correct piece by politically correct piece.

And they are giving those freedoms away to those who have shown, worldwide, that they abhor freedom and will not apply it to you or even to themselves, once they are in power.

They have universally shown that when they have taken over, they then start brutally killing each other over who will be the few who control the masses. Will we ever stop hearing from the politically correct, about the "peaceful Muslims"?

I close on a hopeful note, by repeating what I said above. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. I hope now, after the election, the factions in our country will begin to focus on the critical situation we are in, and will unite to save our country. It is your future we are talking about! Do whatever you can to preserve it.

After reading the above, we all must do this not only for ourselves, but our children, our grandchildren, our country and the world

Whether Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal and that include the Politicians and media of our country and the free world!

Please forward this to any you feel may want, or NEED to read it. Our "leaders" in Congress ought to read it, too. There are those that find fault with our country, but it is obvious to anyone who truly thinks through this, that we must UNITE!

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

WHAT SENATOR JOHN GLENN SAID:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the
month of January. That's just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't
have started this war, consider the following:

a. FDR led us into World War II.

b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
>From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 112,500 per year.

c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
North Korea never attacked us
>From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 18,334 per year.

d. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam "conflict" in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.

e. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
>From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost .
an average of 5,800 per year.

f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three
times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on
multiple occasions.

g. In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush
has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled
al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North
Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining
about how long the war is taking.
But
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno
to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB!
The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant
to realize the facts

But Wait there's more!

JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR)
Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Some people still don't understand why military personnel
do what they do for a living. This exchange between
Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum
is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive
impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one
man's explanation of why men and women in the armed
services do what they do for a living

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what
some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
"How can you run for Senate
when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):
"I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps.
I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions.
My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different
occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my
checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was
not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the
daily cash receipts to the bank."

"I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day...
to a veteran's hospital and look those men ..
with their mangled bodies in the eye, and tell THEM
they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA
and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans
of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee...
and you look those kids in the eye and tell them
that their DADS didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in
Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends
buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch
those waving flags

You stand there, and you think about this nation,
and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

What about you?"

For those who don't remember
During WWII, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney
representing the Communist Party in the USA. Now he's a Senator!

If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating.

Where were the heroes?

Where were the heroes recently when a madman entered Platte Canyon High School and took helpless children hostage? I can tell you where they were not: they were not within one thousand feet of any elementary, middle, or high school property. Why? Because heroes are the some of the most lawful citizens amongst us and they recognize that every law, good or bad, should be followed.

All public, parochial, and private elementary, middle, and high schools fall under the Gun Free School Zones Act of 1990. In general, this law prohibits law abiding citizens such as principals, teachers, volunteer parents and grandparents, and even off-duty law enforcement officers, from protecting our children while at school. Hardworking, trustworthy, respectful citizens such as you are prohibited from lawfully carrying a firearm for protective purposes within one thousand feet of school property.

But wait, didn’t the suicidal murders entering Columbine or Platte Canyon realize that by violating the Gun Free School Zone Act they faced fines up to five thousand dollars, and being imprisoned up to five years? Would any law stop a merciless monster or terrorist that was planning to torture, rape, or slaughter children? The answer is a resounding NO!

The Muslim terrorists who massacred one hundred and eighty six children in Belsan, Russia; the murders at Columbine, and Platte Canyon, all have common characteristics. They disobeyed all laws, their mission was to kill children, and their final act was to commit suicide. We are crazy to believe that a fine and some prison time would have stopped these monsters.

Our elected officials suffer from what Nobel Prize Economist Friedrich Hayek referred to as a “fatal conceit.” In the case of the Gun Free School Zone Act, “fatal conceit” is not metaphoric, but quite literally fatal for our school children. Elected officials believe they can change our world and make everyone safe with their God-like pronouncements. I guess if those laws make us “feel safe” and help them win an election, it’s OK, right? Wrong!

Criminals are not of sound mind, but that does not mean they are unintelligent. Perhaps Cesare Beccaria, the father of modern criminology often quoted by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, said it best: "An unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." Human nature has not changed and we are fools to believe otherwise.

Wake up America…in the hands of law abiding citizens, guns save lives. One hero, with one lawfully carried firearm, could have saved the precious life of 16-year-old Emily Keyes yesterday.

Doctors and Guns

Physicians:

(A) The number of physicians in the US is 700,000
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of US Dept. of Health Human Services.

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80
million..)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups is 1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188

Statistics courtesy of the FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than
gun owners.
Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

CHARLOTTESVILLE
, Va.Western Michigan used a stifling defense to capture its first win over an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference, defeating Virginia, 17-10, and spoiling homecoming for 59,679 Cavalier faithful. The win also marked the first win over the Cavaliers by a team from the Mid-American Conference.

The Broncos did it with defense in the first quarter. On Virginia’s opening drive, Kevin McCabe was errant on his pass and it was picked off by Louis Delmas and returned 24 yards to the Cavaliers 21-yard line. The Brown & Gold used eight plays to traverse the 21 yards, converting on two fourth downs. The second fourth-down conversion put WMU in the end zone when Mark Bonds went over the top for his sixth-career rushing score and gave the Broncos a 7-0 lead early.

Virginia’s offense found its rhythm on the Cavaliers next drive. After starting the drive on its own 17, UVa recorded a pair of first downs in three plays to move the ball to the 42 yard line. The key play of the drive came when Tom Santi found a space in the Bronco defense and McCabe found him wide open for 34 yards down to the WMU five-yard line. Jason Snelling tied the score on the next play, bouncing off two tacklers for the score.

The two teams traded field position over the next four drives and the first quarter ended with a tied game. The Cavaliers’ first possession of the second quarter resulted much the same as their first of the game. On a pass intended for Santi, McCabe’s pass was tipped by Anthony Gebhart, intercepted by Desman Stephen and returned 34 yards for the go-ahead score. The pick was Stephen’s first of his career and marked the second straight game WMU has scored on an interception return. Londen Fryar had the honor last week against Toledo, returning an interception 92 yards for a touchdown.

The interception not only put Western Michigan ahead, 14-7, it also knocked UVa’s starting signal caller. On the next drive, Christian Olsen replaced McCabe under center but did not fare much better as Virginia was forced to punt.

Western Michigan could not muster much on offense during the first half. In fact, Peregrin’s 19-yard completion to Jamarko Simmons in the second quarter, Peregrin’s career long, made up for almost all of the Broncos’ 23 yards passing. The Bronco ground game was also stymied during the first two quarters. Despite Bonds’ scoring leap, he finished the first half with just 16 yards on 10 carries, while freshman Brandon West ran the ball four times for 21 yards (5.2 ypc).

The Cavaliers ended the half on a positive note by capitalizing on great field position. UVa received the ball off a WMU punt at the Broncos’ 43-yard line. Olsen worked the two-minute offense well, completing three-out-of-five passes during a drive that resulted in a 34-yard field goal by Chris Gould with just 14 seconds left before halftime.

The Cavalier offense sputtered throughout the first half but Virginia went to the locker room with a 187-52 advantage in total yards, having run 15 more plays than WMU. UVa quarterbacks combined for 137 yards through the air on 17-of-22 passing. Santi proved to be the target of choice as the junior hauled in five catches for 60 yards during the first two frames. But it was McCabe’s two interceptions that proved to be costly as Western Michigan went into the break with a four-point lead, 14-10.

Freshman quarterback Jameel Sewell began the second half under center for the Cavaliers and provided a spark early, completing his first three passes, one for a first down but on third and long, Ameer Ismail and Anthony Belmonte met at the quarterback for a sack that forced UVa to punt.

The Broncos took over at their own 20 after the punt. Bonds ran for three yards on the first play. He did a considerably better job on his second rush, scooting 56 yards down to the Virginia 17-yard line. A sack by UVa’s Chris Long stopped Western Michigan’s hope of a touchdown but Nate Meyer made good on a 32-yard field goal from the right hash to extend the Brown & Gold lead to 17-10 with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter.

With Western Michigan still leading only by a touchdown and over 10 minutes left on the clock, Brandon West fumbled the hand off on a third-and-one play. The ball squirted away from the freshman ball carrier but was recovered by sophomore lineman, Steve Ellingsen. The play did force the Broncos to punt and the Cavaliers received the ball in WMU territory.

Snelling rushed for 15 yards to the WMU 21-yard line and he ran for another five yards on the next play. UVa drove the ball to the Broncos’ 14 when Ismail came through again with a nine-yard sack of Sewell. The loss forced the Cavaliers to have to attempt a 41-yard field that missed wide right, ending the threat.

Crap Happens in sets of 3's

I am sure a few of you are familiar with the fact that bad things happen in 3's. I even write about the bad things on here from time to time. Like the celebrity death watch, where 3 celbs will kick the bucket in close proximity time wise speaking. Well our bad things are happening in triplicate as well.

As we were coming home from the Vanhorns after a not so successful evening of no limit Texas hold em, as we pulled into the drive, smack! We got rear eneded! Yep that is a kick in the pants with all that is going on. Thankfully it was a slow impact accident. No one was hurt which was the important thing. Not a whole lot of damage was done to the Jeep. The guy that smacked into us of course had a little more damage to his ford wagon.

Crackerz and I are playing it as safe as possible laying low and taking care of ourself! Hopefully all of our crap has come for the time being, time for a little good fortune.

Masters of Disaster -- part duex

Ok so there we were this morning.. Crackerz had just finished up in the shower and was getting ready to do some ironing. I was in the office checking some emails and just going about my daily routine. Crackerz went in to the bathroom to discover the floor wet and the sound of running water coming from under the tub. Oh fuck! Not again, another busted water line. Our house, that we love and enjoy, is becoming twisted and demented!!
So after Crax, short for crackerz, informed me of our dilemma, it was a dash down stairs to the kitchen where I could hear water cascading across our ceiling... Oh fuck! Mind you, we just had our ceiling and hardwood floors fixed and replaced respectively because of a busted pipe... Oh fuck!! So I dashed out to the water valve at the street to secure the water coming to the house.. Oh fuck!
So here we are...trying to keep the floor dry, water dripping from the fixtures in the kitchen and coming this time, from the closets on the 1st floor.
The plumber was called and responded in a timely fasion as did the folks from service pro to help us dry out. Great dehumidifiers and blowers scattered about the house and of course the dreaded call to USAA! I hate using insurance but I guess that is why I pay premiums!!

More to follow with respect to this.. I really dont want the service master bubbas to carve a whole in my kitchen ceiling, but then again, we might just have to do it to make sure all is dry... Oh fuck! Notice the date of the post... should have listened to Garfield the cat and stayed in bed!
Be sure to check out the pix!!!

Is she a hottie or what?

As you all know I like to advertise wine that we come across that is pretty tastey. This is a two part attack if you will. Part one is so we remeber what in the hell we drank and part two tell you all about it because we know that some of our friends have similar tastes! Anyhow this is a special merlot from sunny, actually cloudy California. It came special delivery from some vinyard outside of Gayport San Francisco! The girls said it tasted a little "spicy" and was not too overwelming as some Merlots can be. If you want more info on this particular lable shoot the Cute Neighbor Girl an email. Oh and by the way we are trying to fix her up with some stud who likes to drink wine and can hang with the likes of Larry and Nutz with out being chased off. Beer funneling skills are a plus. Posted by Picasa
