More on gun control

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

From the Virginia Citizens Defense League

I was interviewed by Kimball Payne of the Daily Press last week.

Senator Locke's bill to ban carrying of guns at festivals (which I
refer to as the "Chet Szymecki disarmament bill") is just another
example of the lengths that anti-freedom members of the General
Assembly will go to make government our master.

Rather than chastising Norfolk for knowingly breaking state preemption
laws, she encourages Norfolk by putting in this bill.

Rather than sympathizing with the victim, she acts like it was CHET
who did something wrong!

Senator Locke totally misses the point of needing a gun for self-
defense at a festival. Apparently she and her sister had a bad
experience with an armed person at a Norfolk festival a few years
ago. Senator Locke says, ""It [crime] has the potential to happen at
any festival with that many people."

Yes, it does, Senator. I completely agree. Sounds like your bill
needs to be withdrawn ASAP.

Oh, by the way, Senator Locke - VCDL has found out that Norfolk was
enforcing its illegal 'no firearms' ban at festivals for years. So
the very festival where you had the bad experience already had a gun
ban in place! The ban worked really well, didn't it?

It is critical that we assume nothing about the fate of either pro-gun
or anti-gun bills. Every anti-gun bill must be fought like there is
no tomorrow, even if the patron is not optimistic about its passage.

Here is the article that came out today.
