"The events of the past month along the Gulf Coast have thrust the issue of energy supplies back into the spotlight," said Sen. John W. Warner, R-Va., who reintroduced a bill this month to exempt willing states from the moratorium.
"People understand what they're paying for natural gas, and they want us to fix the problem," said Rep. Thelma Drake, R-Norfolk, a committee member who voted for the bill."
